Casa D'alloro cantina is a beautifully restored ancient cantina, cosy in winter, and cool in summer.
You enter the house through the expertly crafted arched doorway. To your left is the spacious main bedroom leading through to the ensuite with shower, wc, bidet and a stunning Carrara marble surface on the original pointed stone ledge.
The front bedroom has spectacular views over the garden and on to the the chestnut forests beyond. The ensuite has 2 large basins, bidet and ample bath to soak in after a days skiing.
The local handcrafted kitchen has everything you need if you enjoy cooking (as we do) but also if you have kids and need a microwave and dishwasher (i really don't want to wash up on holiday !) .
The lounge has those same views with a comfortable sofa bed and sony HD tv with DVD player. This whole space has the original stone cleaned and re pointed up to shoulder height and the beautiful arched roof plastered in the traditional way.
You exit the house onto the terrace through either the front bedroom or the living area. Here there is enough space to sit and enjoy breakfast taking in the tranquillity of the garden below with endless chestnut covered hills across the valley. Just a few steps take you down to the bbq area and garden. Here, despite being in the village you have complete privacy to enjoy both levels of the large garden.
The nearest shops are just a few minutes drive to either Comano or Licciana Nardi. Both have small supermarkets and a selection of cafes, bakeries and delicatessens. Just a little farther is Monti where there is a fishmonger. Local restaurants are just a few minutes drive... you will be spoilt for choice and without having to pay normal Tuscany prices.
There are spectacular walks directly from Baccana up into the Apuan Alps and on to other small villages includuing Bastia with its impressive castle.
So the choice is yours.....just laze around the garden, go out for lunch, go to the beach, the waterpark, skiing in winter .... Casa D'alloro has everything to make your holiday in Lunigiana one you will never forget...
